M<strong>on</strong>th& Meetiflg to be held at Walsall. He was present with Dr. Priestley .<br />

and o<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>r ministers at <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> Dudley Double Lecture <strong>on</strong> 29 May, 1787, and<br />

<strong>on</strong>e <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> its preachers in 1789.<br />

Bowen was-<br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> founder <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> general library at Walsal!, and established <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> first Sunday<br />

School at that place.$<br />

With <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> excepti<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> a very brief period at Ilminster, <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> whole <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> his<br />

l<strong>on</strong>g active ministry was devoted to Walsall. He preached <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> Dudley<br />

lecture in 1795 and in 1806, and <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> Oldbury lecture in 1798, 1816, and<br />

1830. He preached several times at <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> JhntAL7y Meetijzg, <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> first being<br />

<strong>on</strong> 4 November, 1823, at <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> Old Meeting, Birmingham, when, after service,<br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> ministers adjaurned to <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> habitatio~z <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Rev. Ja~ties Yates.<br />

A memorial <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Edward Myers' ministry here is to be found in <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

WakaZZ Free Press, <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> oldest Walsall newspaper now existing, <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> which<br />

he was originator and first editor.<br />

ti<strong>on</strong> ; for eleven years he has been a member <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> School Board; is a<br />

member <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> Executive Committee <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Walsall Hospital-<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> scene <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

Sister Dora's well-known labours ; <strong>on</strong>e <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> N<strong>on</strong>c<strong>on</strong>formist chaplains <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />
