In <strong>the</strong> Discz;53Ze* <strong>the</strong>re appeared a charming biographical sketch entitled
The Story <strong>of</strong> Four Bro<strong>the</strong>rs " which <strong>the</strong> anonymous writer <strong>of</strong>fered as-
a genuine extract <strong>of</strong> veritable history,
<strong>the</strong> object being to record such particulars as could be recovered-
respecting a family <strong>of</strong> old-fashioned Dissenting people during <strong>the</strong> last century.
Although names were concealed, <strong>the</strong>re can be no difficulty whatever by
those who know <strong>the</strong> neighbourhood, and who read between <strong>the</strong> lines <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>
story, in identifying <strong>the</strong> town <strong>of</strong> Road4y as that <strong>of</strong> A<strong>the</strong>rstone, and <strong>the</strong>
four broihers as Mat<strong>the</strong>w, Thomas, John, and Richard Wright, this last
being <strong>the</strong> minister <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Presbyterian society at A<strong>the</strong>rstone. Quotations
