It is c<strong>on</strong>sidered probable that <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> meetings grew out <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> private meetings<br />
<str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> three ministers, viz., Samuel Clark, a minister (1756-1769) <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> Old<br />

and religious subjects, but without any public service, and <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>y c<strong>on</strong>tinued<br />
to meet till Mr. Clark's death in 1769. Mr. Robins afterwards removed<br />
to Daventry, and in 1775 succeeded Dr. Ashworth as principal <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />
dissenting academy <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> that place.<br />
The first <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> M<strong>on</strong>thly Meetings was held at West Bromwich <strong>on</strong><br />
7 May, 1782, "at Rev. 1Wr. [Saf;zuel] Brabrook's house," when several mini-<br />
