CHASSIS<br />

Chassis for all new Cadillacs and <strong>LaSalle</strong> have been<br />

redesigned or improved for <strong>1938</strong> in accordance with<br />

Cadillac policy to provide most progressive engineering,<br />

durability and comfort.<br />

Xhe <strong>LaSalle</strong> and Sixty chassis have been refined<br />

through improvements in frame design, springing and<br />

stronger hypoid rear axle. 'Wheelbase is 124 inches.<br />

Cadillac Sixty Special has a new double drop frame<br />

in order to achieve extremely low lines on this new<br />

model. Rear axle and springs have also been refined.<br />

Wheelbase has been increased to 127 inches.<br />

New, Sturdier Fleetwood Chassis<br />

The 132 and 141 inch wheelbase chassis employed<br />

on Cadillac V-8 and Cadillac Fleetwood respectively<br />

are completely new, featuring stiffer frames, improved<br />

cross link rear stabilizers and new hypoid rear axles.<br />

These are the most advanced chassis employed on<br />

any fine car for <strong>1938</strong>.<br />

Frames<br />

<strong>LaSalle</strong> and Sixty: The frame is the dual X-type<br />

with rigid I-beam section members. Frame depth is<br />

8*¾; inches; thickness 3^8 inch; flange inches. The<br />
