4. INDUSTRIAL SAFETY AND HEALTH INFORMATION
Industrial Safety and Health information is supplementary to the basic knowledge
of materials and processes and it leads to the scientific and methodological approach
towards the control of work and environment. Information on Industrial Safety is an
essential ingredient for improving working conditions. Industrial Safety information can
be grouped as Predictive information that is the primary management need and
Preventive information, which is the need of designers, planners and safety professionals.
The information is needed by a wide spectrum of people--managers, engineers,
supervisors, technicians, professionals, researchers and others. Industrial Safety in a
workplace involves a vast array of issues. The information required to fulfil these needs
is constantly changing and the demand for information is expanding. (Lal, A B and Rao,

2. Conduct or co-ordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and
regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment like
PPEs
