For example: 1. How well are minor accidents and near-accidents analysed and discussed 2. During a crisis, how easily can relevant information be accessed? 3. How well is essential knowledge transferred from retiring experts to the younger generation? Safe working condition depends on safe plant operation right from project site and technology selection to plant commissioning and regular operation. Knowledge, while widely collected and held by individuals throughout the firm, is strategically valuable only when shared, synthesized, and used in unique ways. 6. CONCLUSION A firm's success in today's dynamic and fiercely competitive environment depends largely on the ability to use knowledge to develop new products, services and processes that outperform the products, services, and processes of rivals. It is important to 52
use available knowledge to ensure safe working conditions. Knowledge Management helps libraries in capturing, collecting, organizing and disseminating the collective knowledge assets of an organization. KM can also helps libraries to improve their image and play a leadership role in helping to capture the institutional memory. KM initiatives succeed in organizations that have strategic goals, knowledge-sharing culture, try different approaches and use ICT tools effectively. Knowledge Management principles will help to make an overall evaluation of opportunities and risks in terms of knowledge management for the mitigation of industrial risk. Regular studies of industrial organizations identify the ways in which their management of information and knowledge is helping safety. Knowledge Management initiatives support the nation's safety, health policies, and accident prevention projects by ensuring timely and accurate information. REFERENCES 1.
