<strong>in</strong>dustries. However, <strong>in</strong> most surveyed <strong>in</strong>dustries, <strong>the</strong>re is still a considerable gap <strong>in</strong> ERP<br />

adoption between small firms on <strong>the</strong> one h<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> medium-sized <strong>and</strong> large firms on<br />

<strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r. In <strong>the</strong> P&P <strong>in</strong>dustry, for example, about 70% of large companies <strong>and</strong> 45% of<br />

medium-sized ones said <strong>the</strong>y had an ERP system, but less than 20% of small firms did<br />

(see Exhibit 4-7).<br />
