dichogamy - the differing times of maturation of stamens and pistils in a
flower.
dichotomous - forked, in 1 or 2 pairs.
dicotyledon - a flowering plant with two cotyledons.
diploid - having two sets of chromosomes.
dorsal - upon or relating to the back or outer surface of an organ.
downy - covered with short and weak soft hairs.

elliptic - oval in outline.
emarginate - having a shallow notch at the extremity.
