In cases where beneficiaries work in groups, either pre-existing ones or those created<br />
through the ACF programme, the monitoring might collect information on the<br />
operation of the groups:<br />
• Division of tasks<br />
• Participation of the members<br />
• Group management of the IGA<br />
• Decision-making process<br />
• Conflicts and mechanisms for their resolution<br />
• Sharing of income<br />
• Motivation of the group<br />
(Appendix 22 includes a format to carry out monitoring of IGA groups). <strong>Income</strong> generating<br />
programmes have a great potential to work with women and when programme<br />
includes a gender component, some additional indicators might be necessary.<br />
This information, as well as being used to measure the progress of the programme,<br />
the results obtained and the possible unforeseen directions the work has taken, should<br />
contribute to the improvement of the interventions, through incorporating changes<br />
when necessary.<br />
I.III. Analysis of the information<br />
The monitoring process analyses quantitative as well as qualitative information.<br />
Quantitative data is generally easier to measure and computer programmes aid in the<br />
data analysis. Qualitative information can be influenced by many subjective factors,<br />
