Call for Papers and Special <strong>Issue</strong>s<br />

Aims and Scope.<br />

Journal of Computers (JCP, ISSN 1796-203X) is a scholarly peer-reviewed <strong>in</strong>ternational scientific journal published monthly for researchers,<br />

developers, technical managers, and educators <strong>in</strong> the computer field. It provide a high profile, lead<strong>in</strong>g edge forum for academic researchers, <strong>in</strong>dustrial<br />

professionals, eng<strong>in</strong>eers, consultants, managers, educators and policy makers work<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the field to contribute and dissem<strong>in</strong>ate <strong>in</strong>novative new work<br />

on all the areas of computers.<br />

JCP <strong>in</strong>vites orig<strong>in</strong>al, previously unpublished, research, survey and tutorial papers, plus case studies and short research notes, on both applied and<br />

theoretical aspects of computers. These areas <strong>in</strong>clude, but are not limited to, the follow<strong>in</strong>g:<br />

• Computer Organizations and Architectures<br />

• Operat<strong>in</strong>g Systems, Software Systems, and Communication Protocols<br />

• Real-time Systems, Embedded Systems, and Distributed Systems<br />

• Digital Devices, Computer Components, and Interconnection Networks<br />

• Specification, Design, Prototyp<strong>in</strong>g, and Test<strong>in</strong>g Methods and Tools<br />

• Artificial Intelligence, Algorithms, Computational Science<br />

• Performance, Fault Tolerance, Reliability, Security, and Testability<br />

• Case Studies and Experimental and Theoretical Evaluations<br />

• New and Important Applications and Trends<br />

Special <strong>Issue</strong> Guidel<strong>in</strong>es<br />

Special issues feature specifically aimed and targeted topics of <strong>in</strong>terest contributed by authors respond<strong>in</strong>g to a particular Call for Papers or by<br />

<strong>in</strong>vitation, edited by guest editor(s). We encourage you to submit proposals for creat<strong>in</strong>g special issues <strong>in</strong> areas that are of <strong>in</strong>terest to the Journal.<br />

Preference will be given to proposals that cover some unique aspect of the technology and ones that <strong>in</strong>clude subjects that are timely and useful to the<br />

readers of the Journal. A Special <strong>Issue</strong> is typically made of 10 to 15 papers, with each paper 8 to 12 pages of length.<br />

The follow<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>formation should be <strong>in</strong>cluded as part of the proposal:<br />

• Proposed title for the Special <strong>Issue</strong><br />

• Description of the topic area to be focused upon and justification<br />

• Review process for the selection and rejection of papers.<br />

• Name, contact, position, affiliation, and biography of the Guest Editor(s)<br />

• List of potential reviewers<br />

• Potential authors to the issue<br />

• Tentative time-table for the call for papers and reviews<br />

If a proposal is accepted, the guest editor will be responsible for:<br />

• Prepar<strong>in</strong>g the “Call for Papers” to be <strong>in</strong>cluded on the Journal’s Web site.<br />

• Distribution of the Call for Papers broadly to various mail<strong>in</strong>g lists and sites.<br />

• Gett<strong>in</strong>g submissions, arrang<strong>in</strong>g review process, mak<strong>in</strong>g decisions, and carry<strong>in</strong>g out all correspondence with the authors. Authors should be<br />

<strong>in</strong>formed the Instructions for Authors.<br />

• Provid<strong>in</strong>g us the completed and approved f<strong>in</strong>al versions of the papers formatted <strong>in</strong> the Journal’s style, together with all authors’ contact<br />

<strong>in</strong>formation.<br />

• Writ<strong>in</strong>g a one- or two-page <strong>in</strong>troductory editorial to be published <strong>in</strong> the Special <strong>Issue</strong>.<br />

Special <strong>Issue</strong> for a Conference/Workshop<br />

A special issue for a Conference/Workshop is usually released <strong>in</strong> association with the committee members of the Conference/Workshop like<br />

general chairs and/or program chairs who are appo<strong>in</strong>ted as the Guest Editors of the Special <strong>Issue</strong>. Special <strong>Issue</strong> for a Conference/Workshop is<br />

typically made of 10 to 15 papers, with each paper 8 to 12 pages of length.<br />

Guest Editors are <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> the follow<strong>in</strong>g steps <strong>in</strong> guest-edit<strong>in</strong>g a Special <strong>Issue</strong> based on a Conference/Workshop:<br />

• Select<strong>in</strong>g a Title for the Special <strong>Issue</strong>, e.g. “Special <strong>Issue</strong>: Selected Best Papers of XYZ Conference”.<br />

• Send<strong>in</strong>g us a formal “Letter of Intent” for the Special <strong>Issue</strong>.<br />

• Creat<strong>in</strong>g a “Call for Papers” for the Special <strong>Issue</strong>, post<strong>in</strong>g it on the conference web site, and publiciz<strong>in</strong>g it to the conference attendees.<br />

Information about the Journal and <strong>Academy</strong> <strong>Publisher</strong> can be <strong>in</strong>cluded <strong>in</strong> the Call for Papers.<br />

• Establish<strong>in</strong>g criteria for paper selection/rejections. The papers can be nom<strong>in</strong>ated based on multiple criteria, e.g. rank <strong>in</strong> review process plus<br />

the evaluation from the Session Chairs and the feedback from the Conference attendees.<br />

• Select<strong>in</strong>g and <strong>in</strong>vit<strong>in</strong>g submissions, arrang<strong>in</strong>g review process, mak<strong>in</strong>g decisions, and carry<strong>in</strong>g out all correspondence with the authors.<br />

Authors should be <strong>in</strong>formed the Author Instructions. Usually, the Proceed<strong>in</strong>gs manuscripts should be expanded and enhanced.<br />

• Provid<strong>in</strong>g us the completed and approved f<strong>in</strong>al versions of the papers formatted <strong>in</strong> the Journal’s style, together with all authors’ contact<br />

<strong>in</strong>formation.<br />

• Writ<strong>in</strong>g a one- or two-page <strong>in</strong>troductory editorial to be published <strong>in</strong> the Special <strong>Issue</strong>.<br />
