Common mode<br />

Common mode voltage surges occur between the live parts and the earth:<br />

phase/earth or neutral/earth (see Fig. J6).<br />

They are especially dangerous for devices whose frame is earthed due to the risk <strong>of</strong><br />

dielectric breakdown.<br />
