<strong>FDR</strong>ARCH input included a MODIFY statement to modify entries in the Archive Control<br />

File. A mismatch between the file number and device class resulted. Backups on tape<br />

must have a file number from 1 to 65535. Backups on disk must have a file number of<br />

0. Message <strong>FDR</strong>667 is also issued.<br />

Correct the MODIFY statement and resubmit.<br />

<strong>FDR</strong>667 DEVICE TYPE/FILE NUMBER ERROR – SIMULATE FORCED – DSN=dsn<br />

Reason: Documents the data set for which message <strong>FDR</strong>664 or <strong>FDR</strong>665 was issued. Because<br />

of the error, SIMULATE is forced and the control file is not updated.<br />

Action: Correct the MODIFY statement and resubmit.<br />

active clusters within the Archive Control File but the storage was not available.<br />

Increase region size and resubmit the job. Always followed by message <strong>FDR</strong>610<br />

indicating cluster processing is terminated for the remainder of this command<br />

execution.<br />

The control file being processed contains no records (i.e.: it has only been formatted<br />

and never used).<br />

Verify that the proper data set name was used for the control file you wished to process<br />

and correct if required.<br />

Reason: The entry for data set name “dsname” archived from disk “volser” on Julian date yy.ddd<br />

was dropped from the Archive Control File. This message is always followed by one or<br />

more <strong>FDR</strong>673 messages detailing the reason the entry was dropped and other action<br />

taken on behalf of the named data set or component.<br />
