5.4.4.4 Declaring the Android phone<br />

To use My IC Mobile for Android, the device must be declared in the OmniPCX Office, using<br />

OMC.<br />

To declare an Android phone:<br />

1. From the OMC tool, navigate to: Users/Basestations List and click Add<br />

This displays the Add User screen.<br />

2. Select the My IC Mobile check box and click OK to validate<br />

The Android phone is displayed in the list of subscribers<br />

3. Select the Android phone and click the Details button<br />

The Android phone parameter page is displayed<br />

4. Click the Mobility button to enter the device identifier<br />

The Mobility page is displayed<br />

5. Select MAC address or IMEI identifier and enter the corresponding value in the Identifier<br />

field: 12 hexadecimal digits for MAC address and 15 decimal digits for IMEI.<br />

6. Click OK to validate<br />

7. In the Details tab, click Cent Serv.<br />

8. Validate the Nomadic Right check box<br />

9. Click OK to validate<br />

10. Click OK to leave the Details tab<br />

The smartphone can be associated to the user deskphone or can be used as standalone<br />

device. The association with a deskphone is achieved with the multi-set feature available in the<br />

OmniPCX Office (see: Multi-sets - Overview ).<br />

Note:<br />

It is not possible to display unified call logs for the deskphone and the mobile device.<br />

5.4.5 Operation<br />

Under normal conditions the telephone services are those provided by the PBX.<br />

Depending on the phone status, the native phone application can be pushed on top of My IC<br />

Mobile for Android. This limitation is due to the current Android platform.<br />

When the user makes an outgoing call using web services, the PBX first calls back the mobile<br />

and initiates the outgoing call to the called party. This mechanism is also used to consult the<br />

business voice mail: the application tries to answer automatically the PBX callback.<br />

For incoming calls under data coverage (WiFi, 3G/3G+), My IC Mobile for Android can receive<br />

call events from the server. It can display the incoming call screen on top of the native screen<br />

(in order to offer "Divert to voice mail/One number services" and the "Answer call" features).<br />

To answer the incoming call, the user clicks the “Take call” button.<br />

Security policies may prevent using the incoming call screen in this manner.<br />

For example, the IT manager may activate a security policy that forces the user to enter a<br />

complex password to unlock the device. This can occur when using an MS-Exchange account<br />

on the mobile.<br />

In this case, when users receive an incoming call while the mobile is locked, they are<br />
