6.4.3.3.1 Authentication and Registration
Authentication and ARS
The Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Office Communication Server authentication mechanism
conforms to the RFC 3261 recommendation and to data registered in the ARS table. Two
fields are provided in the ARS table for SIP components: login and password (username and
shared secret).
Incoming Calls
There is no authentication for incoming calls. Only calls from IP addresses registered in the
ARS table are accepted.
Outgoing Calls
The type of authentication depends upon destination listed in the ARS table. For calls to proxy
servers, Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Office Communication Server sends an authenticated
request when a 401 or 407 response containing an authentication challenge is received.
Authorization is accomplished by a combination of a user name and a password (shared
secret) in accordance with recommendations RFC 2617and RFC 1321.
Parameters
From Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Office Communication Server R6.0 and higher: In a consistent
