7.2 Principles of ARS Mechanisms<br />

7.2.1 Mechanisms<br />

7.2.1.1 Overview<br />

7.2.1.1.1 OVERVIEW<br />

ARS is an operation which, during the routing of a call:<br />

- forces the use of the most appropriate path according to the number dialed.<br />

- chooses another path if the most appropriate one is overloaded.<br />

This operation is applied independently of the type of:<br />

- trunk group: public or private<br />

- support: analog or digital<br />

- call: voice or data<br />

ARS is completely transparent to the user; the number dialed is, if necessary, modified<br />

automatically according to the chosen itinerary.<br />

Note:<br />

If the ARS operation modifies the number dialed by the user:<br />

- the station's display shows the number dialed by the user.<br />

- It is the emitted number (modified by the ARS) which is analyzed in the restriction.<br />

- the charge ticket shows the emitted number (modified by the ARS).<br />

The ARS mechanism can be applied for the following calls:<br />

- outgoing call with manual dialing:<br />
