Nestled in the north west of Slovenia, Lake Bled ranks among the
most beautiful alpine resorts and is renowned for its mild, healing
climate and thermal lake water.
Suggested programme:
Day 1:
Arrive at your hotel in the area of Bled.
Day 2:
Enjoy a free day to discover your surroundings and to get to know
your hotel and its facilities. Explore the village during a horse and
carriage ride or relax on a boat cruise. A visit to Bled Castle, the
oldest castle in Slovenia, is highly recommended.
Day 3:
After a relaxing breakfast enjoy a full day excursion with a guided
tour in the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana. Here the old meets the
new, and you can find traces from all periods of its rich history
throughout the city. The city’s present appearance is owed partly
to Italian baroque and partly to Art Nouveau, which is the style of
the numerous buildings erected immediately after the earthquake
of 1895.
Day 4:
Today is a day of contrasts when you visit 3 different countries,
Austria, Italy and Slovenia. After passing over the border into Italy,
your first stop will be the Italian border town of Tarvisio. On your
way why not stop off at Planica in Slovenia where one of the biggest
ski jumps of the world is situated? After Tarvisio, travel across
the border into Austria and the town of Villach. Here you have
some time to relax and discover the town before travelling over the
Wurzenpass back to your hotel.
Day 5:
A full day tour to Postojna and Lipica is our suggestion for today.
Visit the world-famous Postojna Caves, one of Slovenia’s "Wonders
of the World". And then visit the Lipica Stud, home of the
famous Lipizzaner horses.
