Highlights of Austria & Switzerland
Discover the city jewels in the heart of Central Europe. Learn more
about the culture, history and traditions of Austria and Switzerland.
Suggested programme:
Day 1:
Arrival in Vienna and overnight in a middle-class hotel. Dinner at
your hotel.
Day 2:
After breakfast your guide will welcome you to the city of Vienna
and show you the most important sights during today’s tour.
See, amongst other things, the State Opera House, the Kunsthistorisches
Museum and the Museum of Natural History, the Imperial
Palace, the Parliament, the City Hall, the Burgtheater, the
University, the Church of Vows and the Hundertwasserhaus. Your
lunchtime will be spent at leisure, then in the afternoon the tour will
continue to the number one attraction in the city, Schönbrunn Palace.
Visit the splendid apartments in Schönbrunn Palace, which
were once the summer residence of the imperial family, including
Empress Maria Theresia.
Day 3:
After breakfast travel from Vienna to Salzburg. When you arrive
in Salzburg your guide will be waiting for you and will accompany
you on an informative guided walk through the city. See all of the
most significant sights which can be found in the extremely beautiful
historic old town. The afternoon is free to be spent at leisure.
Day 4:
Admire the beautiful scenery of the Salzkammergut lake district.
Leave Salzburg and drive past Lake Fuschl to St Gilgen on Lake
Wolfgang, the birthplace of Mozart’s mother. In St Wolfgang you
will visit the pilgrimage church with Michael Pacher‘s Gothic altar.
See also the world-famous "White Horse Inn on Lake Wolfgang".
Here there is the opportunity to take a boat ride on the lake and
enjoy the breath-taking views over the crystal clear water. There
will be some free time for lunch, before continuing past the
myth-enshrouded Lake Krotten and Hüttenstein Castle to Lake
Mond. Stop in the small town of Mondsee and return to Salzburg.
Day 5:
After breakfast your journey will continue to Innsbruck. The capital
city of Tyrol is not only renowned for its stunning mountainous

backdrop but was also twice
home to the Winter Olympic Games
in Austria. In the afternoon
you will have the opportunity to
explore the historic heart of the
city on foot. Here you will see the
most important highlights, including
the famous "Little Golden
Roof". Overnight in your middle-class
hotel in Innsbruck.
Day 6:
Today is free for you to discover
the impressive natural scenery
surrounding Innsbruck on your
own. An ideal way of doing so is to
take the famous cable car which
leads directly from the heart of the
city up the Nordkette mountains.

Day 7:
Today will take us from Innsbruck to Zurich. During the journey you
will be thrilled by the picturesque scenery and magnificent mountains.
Zurich is the capital of Switzerland and has a truly unique
character. Dinner in your middle-class hotel.
Day 8:
After breakfast see the most popular sights in Zurich. A ride on the
nostalgic "Classic Trolley" is a unique Swiss experience. There will
be some free time for lunch, then in the afternoon you will have the
opportunity to take a boat ride on Lake Zurich, from where you have
a beautiful panoramic view of both the city and the mountains.
Day 9:
After breakfast transfer to the airport.
