Day 1:
Arrive at your hotel, your home for the next 3 nights.
from E 141.-
Day 2:
Today’s excursion centres on the beautiful Cinque Terre, or Five
Lands, now a National Park that encompasses 10 miles of rocky
coastline. Time has stood still for the five villages, Monterosso al
Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore which you
can discover via bus, train and boat. The villages were at one time
only accessible by boat or footpath and as a consequence the
villagers built their houses from the sea upwards. Cinque Terre is a
popular alternative to the big towns that dot the Italian and French
Riviera. Your journey back to the hotel is partly by boat, so that
you can admire the coastline.
Day 3:
After breakfast, travel to Rapallo where you board your ship for a
sail along the most well-known coast of the Riviera to Portofino.
Portofino has long been, and still remains, a capital of high society
and the so-called 'jet set', it is however, also much more than that.
It offers lush Mediterranean hillside forests and charming villages
loaded with history and splendour. Portofino began as a Phoenician
port, then was ruled by Rome and finally served the Republic
of Genoa, when it was a cultural meeting point for writers and
philosophers.
