Europe’s Highest Peaks<br />

Spectacular countryside, unique mountain backdrops and magical<br />

panoramic views… this is a journey through picture postcard<br />

scenery to the highest mountains of Europe. You travel from Switzerland<br />

via Liechtenstein to Austria and Germany while visiting<br />

Mountains such as the Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn and the Zugspitz,<br />

some of the most impressive and photographic mountain<br />

scenery Europe has to offer.<br />

Suggested programme:<br />

Day 1:<br />

Arrive at your hotel in the region of Martigny, your home for 2<br />

nights.<br />

Day 2:<br />

Today you make a trip from Martigny through breath-taking heights<br />

to Chamonix. Chamonix is known all over the world and the whole<br />

world meets here. In the streets of this high-mountain town you<br />

can hear languages from every corner of the globe. Enjoy a wander<br />

through the streets, soak up the atmosphere at one of the<br />

cafés or discover the rock, snow and ice of the Mont Blanc.<br />

Day 3:<br />

Your journey continues as you travel to Zermatt, the village at the<br />

foot of the Matterhorn. With 300 days of sunshine every year, and<br />

wonderful fresh air you are going to love this village. <strong>Travel</strong> with the<br />

Gornergrat lift for magnificent views of the Monte Rose – the highest<br />

mountain in Italy, as well as 38 of Europe’s most impressive<br />

mountains – not to mention the Matterhorn. You then travel to the<br />

Lucerne area for your overnight stay.<br />

Day 4:<br />

After a relaxing breakfast travel to the tiny principality of Liechtenstein<br />

for a visit to its capital, Vaduz.<br />

and traditional architecture as well<br />

as fine works of Art and fascinating<br />

museums, a real treasure trove<br />

Day 5:<br />

<strong>Travel</strong> to the winter sports resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, just<br />

over the border in Germany where you take a ride up the Zugspitz,<br />

Germany’s highest mountain. Enjoy a breath-taking panorama as<br />

you travel to the summit of the Zugspitz at around 3000m above<br />

sea level. On a clear day at the summit you will be greeted with<br />

views of Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. Enjoy some free<br />

time to explore this busy summer and winter resort on your own<br />

before starting on the return journey to your hotel. On your way<br />

back to your hotel, we recommend a stop at the pretty mountain<br />

resort of Seefeld.<br />
