Enjoy the splendours of Tyrol - glacier covered mountains, medieval
towns and traditional beer and schnapps.
Suggested programme:
Day 1:
Arrive at your middle-class hotel in the Tyrol.
Day 2:
Start your day by travelling along the Inn valley to Umhausen in the
“Ötztal” where we recommend a visit to the prehistoric “Ötzidorf”.
Follow the tracks of Ötzi and dive into the everyday life of a small
village from 5000 years ago. On arrival, you will be welcomed
with a delicious berry juice before entering the world of Neolithic
times. Your day then continues with a visit to Stams Abbey and
its schnapps distillery. Not to be missed is a guided tour through
the Basilica and the festival hall before visiting the abbey distillery,
which has been producing schnapps since the 16 th century.
Day 3:
Today we suggest a trip to the historic old town of Hall in Tyrol and a
guided city tour of the old town before enjoying free time to discover
the narrow streets on your own. In the afternoon visit the Hall Mint,
also known as the Birthplace of the Taler and modern day Dollar. A visit
to the medieval town of Rattenberg makes a good end to the day.
Day 4:
Start the 4 th day with a spectacular journey to Ehrwald and the
Zugspitz Mountain, located on the border between Austria and
Germany and Germany’s highest mountain with 2,962 m. The
Zugspitze has 3 cable cars, the first of which was built in Tyrol in
1926. At the top you will be met with spectacular panoramic views
of four countries and a visit to the museum. Enjoy lunch on the top
of the mountain or in the village of Ehrwald before continuing on to
the town of Tarrenz and the Starkenberger Brewery.
Day 5:
Extend your stay, combine with another tour or departure.
TIP:
Combine your visit with one of the many traditional festivals.
