Trentino and the Dolomites
This region has a varied landscape from alpine meadows and
mountains, to vineyards, Mediterranean palm trees and Cyprus
trees.
Suggested programme:
Day 1:
Arrive at your hotel in the Trentino area, your home for the next 5
nights.
Day 2:
Your stay starts with a journey to Bolzano where you meet your
local guide. During a guided tour through the old town, you will
see the highlights of the capital of South Tyrol such as the Walther
square and the cathedral. Afterwards, you have time to explore
the town on your own, you also have the opportunity to take
part at a wine tasting. In the afternoon travel to Merano, a town
full of history, art and culture and the gardens of Trauttmansdorff
Castle. At Trauttmansdorff Castle you can discover eighty natural
and cultivated landscapes nestled into a natural amphitheatre, a
wide array of themed gardens and numerous Artist Pavilions and
Interactive Stations. A visit here enchantingly combines the nature,
art and culture of South Tyrol. Enjoy a coffee and cake in Merano
before return to your hotel.
Day 3:
Today you go on an impressive exploration tour of the Dolomites
with your tour guide. The tour goes over the Gardena valley, past
Saint Ulrich - known for its wood sculptures, the Sella-massif and
the Pordoi pass, to the famous ski resort of Cortina d’Ampezzo
where you are in the middle of the Dolomites. Enjoy a cosy lunch

Day 4:
After breakfast, we suggest a tour to Trento. Trento is a city full
of history and art, where Italian and middle European culture are
combined. The city inspires its visitors all year round with its rich
art history. Enjoy a walk through the old town, make a shopping
tour or visit one of the urban museums (the Museum of the Castello
del Buonconsiglio, the MART-Museum for Modern Art – in Palazzo
delle Albere, the Natural Scientific Museum and the Aviation
Museum Caproni). Your day ends with a schnapps tasting at a
Grappa distillery in the area of Trento.
Day 5:
In the morning, take a journey to Riva del Garda where you can
enjoy the azure of the water and sky, the green of the Mediterranean
vegetation with its olive and lemon trees, the yellow of the sun
and the white of the beaches, which are littered with surfboards.
In the city centre, you can discover the ancient city history. The
Rocca (city fortress) is always worth a visit, here you will find the
urban museum (Museo Civico) and the picture gallery, the Torre
Apponale (anno 1220), the Palazzo Pretorio (anno 1375) and the
city hall (built between 1200 and the end of the 15 th century).
