Gruyere, Geneva and the

You cannot get any more Swiss than on this colourful and picturesque
tour.
Suggested programme:
Day 1:
Arrival at your hotel in Leysin.
Day 2:
Today you are free to explore your surroundings on your own. Take
a stroll, relax in your hotel or discover Switzerland while traveling
on the local public transport.
Day 3:
After your breakfast, drive to Geneva where on arrival you will be
met by your city guide for a tour through the historic and picturesque
heart of Geneva’s Old Town. Discover the Cathedral, the Town
Hall and the hidden lanes and flower-filled squares of this impulsive
city. In the afternoon, we suggest a lake cruise on the biggest
lake in Switzerland, Lake Geneva. Nestled amidst the Alps, this
is a true inland sea. Relax and watch the magnificent landscapes
glide by. From the rolling hillsides of La Côte to the climbing vineyards
of Lavaux, from the steep cliffs of the French Chablais to
the luminous banks of Haute-Savoie, the fleet of the Compagnie
Générale de Navigation is at your disposal.
Day 4:
Travel to the town of Martigny where you can join the Montblanc
Express for a journey through spectacular scenery to the giddy
heights of Chamonix. You will be met in Chamonix by majestic
mountain peaks, lush green forests, wonderful wooden chalets
and the Magnificent Mont Blanc Glacier. Relax and enjoy lunch or

Day 5:
Today travel to the city of Fribourg and the cheese village of
Gruyers. Nestled in the heart of Switzerland, Fribourg has something
for everyone. The medieval splendor of its historic old
town, the buzz of the modern-day city, a dynamic student community,
a thriving and diverse arts scene and a breathtaking landscape
are just waiting to be explored. After some free time to explore
the city on your own you then travel on to the well-known medieval
town of Gruyères, at the foot of the Alps. You will be enchanted
by the charm and picturesque architecture of this medieval town,
which has given its name to the area and to its delicious cheese.
Come and explore this little town that has been unaffected by the
passage of time, built in a superb setting. Visit Gruyères Castle, or
the Gruyères dairy or the HR Giger Museum. There is plenty to do.
Day 6:
Depart homeward.
