Daffodil Festival in
Ausseerland

The wild daffodils decorate the spring countryside in Ausseerland –
Salzkammergut and transform the idyllic alpine region, from the
Dachstein, Loser and Toten Gebirge into a fragrant sea of flowers,
yellow, white and green as far as the eye can see. The festival links
local traditions and friendly hospitality with the natural surroundings
of the area. A colourful programme of events allows guests to mingle
with the local community and admire the sweet-smelling, imaginative
figures hand made from daffodils.

Day 1:
Arrive at your hotel in the area of Salzkammergut and enjoy dinner
in your hotel.
Day 2:
Today we suggest a trip through the beautiful Salzkammergut. You
will pass famous lakes such as the Lake Mondsee, Lake Attersee,
Lake Traunsee or Lake Wolfgang. Enjoy a few relaxing hours, have
coffee and cake in the "Weiße Rössl" restaurant at Lake Wolfgang
or take time for a boat trip. Dinner in your hotel.
Day 3:
Travel to Bad Aussee where the big Daffodil Festival takes place.
Enjoy the impressive figures handmade with daffodils, the colourful
landscape and the great atmosphere. The choirs and traditional
dancing groups will make this an unforgettable festival. In the afternoon
you can depart homeward or extend your stay.

Day 2:
Today we recommend a visit to a Styrian oil mill, where you can
try some pumpkin seed oil. The so-called black gold of Styria is
internationally known for it’s nutty taste. On the following tractor
tour along a panorama trail you can enjoy the idyllic landscape
with its vineyards, hayfields and forests. Your journey ends in a
Schilcher Wine vineyard, where you can enjoy a tasting of different
Schilcher Wines.
Day 3:
Start your day with a visit to the folklore museum in Graz, where
you can follow the roots of the Styrian culture and Tracht. On
your following guided tour through Graz you will discover the most
beautiful sights of this city, see many Styrians in their traditional
dress. The highlight of this day will be the visit to the biggest folklore
event in Austria, the Aufsteirern. Spend your afternoon celebrating
with the Styrian people and enjoy the atmosphere.
Day 4:
Extend your stay, combine with another tour or depart home.
