Romantic country towns and the charming metropolis Barcelona
invite you to explore their historical sites from various eras, whilst
the surroundings impress with deep forests and wild mountain
ranges. Also, the Catalonian cuisine is internationally admired,
and the Catalonians can do magic when it comes to their seafood
dishes, wines and traditional desserts.
Suggested programme:
Day 1:
Arrive at your middle-class hotel in the Calella area, your home for
the next 6 nights. Dinner in the hotel
Day 2:
Today you are free to explore your surroundings on your own. We
highly recommend a visit to the historic district of Calella, as well
as a walk along the beach, where you can discover lonely bays. In
the summer time you can even relax in the swimming pools in the
garden area of your hotel.
Day 3:
Your holiday in Catalonia would not be complete without a trip to
its capital Barcelona. On a bus tour through the city, you can easily
get an overview of the most commonly known sights, such as the
distinctive buildings by the famous architect Antoni Gaudí. Your
day then continues with a trip to the historic centre, where you
can independently stroll around and visit the monumental gothic
cathedral La Seu, the stunning church Santa Maria del Mar or the
Picasso-museum.
Day 4:
Enjoy a relaxing breakfast before
traveling to the mountain of Montserrat.
After a cable car ride up
the mountain, you can enjoy the
stunning view and visit the Santa
Maria de Montserrat Abbey,
which houses a museum of arts

A tour full of atmosphere will later lead you through the wine
cellars of the internationally popular Torres winery, where you can
join a wine tasting.
Day 5:
Today’s tour will take you to the roots of the well-known artist and
sculptor Salvador Dali. His hometown Figueres, distinguished by
the octagonal fortress, holds the Dalí Theatre and Museum. Enter
this world of fantasy and surrealism where one of Dalí’s first public
exhibitions was shown. Before returning to your hotel, you can enjoy
a guided tour through the winding alleys of the old town of Girona,
where you can immerse yourself in history when visiting the
historical relicts like the Jewish Heritage and the Girona Cathedral.
Day 6:
The picturesque fairy-tale village of Rupit will amaze you today
with its richness of details. Small lanterns and chapels, flower arrangements
on the windows and the church of Sant Joan de Fàbregues
invite you to let your mind wander. In the afternoon, your
journey continues to the medieval town of Besalu. The city centre
has been placed under conservation due to its incomparable beauty.
Through a Romanesque bridge, you can reach the historic
core, where you can see churches, that date from the 10 th to 14 th
century, and one of the last remaining mikveh, a ritual Jewish bath.
