German Fairy Tale Route
Travel in the footsteps of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales along a
road that stretches over 600 km from Hanau to Bremen. Stroll
through Tudor streets, romantic fairytale landscapes and feel the
magic of legendary places that inspired Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm
in the creation of their collection of Children‘s Fairytales.
Suggested programme:
Day 1:
Arrive at your hotel in Alsfeld. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2:
Explore the historic center of Marburg on a guided tour and follow
the "Grimm trail". The Marburger little train takes you from the
narrow streets of the old town up to Landgrave Castle. Return to
Alsfeld. Here, in the city of romantic buildings you learn a lot about
the history of the city. Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Alsfeld.
Day 3:
In the Alsfeld fairytale house, built in 1628, every room will takes
you to another fairy tale. After a stroll through the idyllic township
you continue your journey to the Waldeck Castle. A cable car takes
you down to the Lake Eder. Step aboard your boat and enjoy
the view of the lake and castle from the water. Continue to Kassel.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

start to Hameln. Amongst Cinderella
and the Lying Baron of
Münchhausen this is the home
of the darkest fellow from the
German Fairy-tale Route – the
Pied Piper. Follow the call of his
pipe and explore the streets of
Hameln with him on a city tour.
Visit the Hamelin Museum with
the mechanical Pied Piper Theatre.
In the evening dinner at the
hotel.
Day 5:
Extend your stay, combine with
another tour or depart homeward.
