Beers of Austria and
the Czech Republic
Take a journey of discovery of some famous beers in Bavaria, Austria
and the Czech Republic.
Suggested programme:
Day 1:
Arrive at your hotel in the Munich area.
Day 2:
In the morning, we recommend an exploration of Munich’s city
centre with a tour guide. You will be amazed by the beautiful sights
that Munich has to offer, the "Viktualien market", the famous
"Frauenkirche" church, the beautiful Cathedral and the old Munich
cafés in the "Englischen Garten" to name just a few. Afterwards go
to the famous "Hofbräuhaus" for lunch and the house beer. The
afternoon will be at your leisure before you journey on to your hotel
in the Salzburg area.
Day 3:
After breakfast, take a historical beer city tour through the old town
of Salzburg. Your guide will tell you some interesting facts about
the various breweries located in and around Salzburg. In the afternoon
visit the Stiegl Brewery, Austria’s biggest private brewery,
which has been brewing beer since 1942. Brewing beer today still
involves a lot of manual work, as you will discover on your brewery
tour. Let yourself be amazed by the biggest beer tower in Europe
and discover the variety of types of beer at a beer tasting in the
former fermenting room.
Day 4:
After a relaxed breakfast depart for a visit to the Zipfer brewery
in the village Zipf in Upper Austria. The brewery was founded in

1858 and is known for its modern
brewing methods. During a tour
through the brewery you have the
possibility to see the process of
making beer from ingredients to
the final product. You will also
find out some of the Zipfer beer
brewing secrets. Afterwards travel
on to your hotel in the Linz /
Freistadt area.

Day 5:
In the morning, enjoy a boat trip from
Schlögen down the river to the capital of Upper Austria, Linz.
Your guide will then take you on a journey of discovery through
the town. Afterwards enjoy some coffee and cake, preferably the
well-known Linzer Schnitte, at the Café "Glockenspiel" a Viennese
coffee house in one of the oldest patrician houses on the Linzer
main square.
Day 6:
Today you cross the border into the Czech Republic and the town
of Ceske Budejovice, home to the world famous beer – Budweiser.
See how long tradition mixed with modern technology makes
one of the best beers in the world. After your tour through the
brewery, you will have the chance to taste the beer for yourself. In
the afternoon visit Cesky Krumlov, which was listed as a UNESCO
World Heritage Site in 1992 and is classed as one of the most
beautiful and best-preserved towns in the Czech Republic.
Day 7:
Departure for your homeward journey.
