Employee voice ❚ 815PLANNING FOR VOICEThe forms of voice appropriate for an organization depend upon the values and attitudesof management, and if they exist trade unions, and the current climate ofemployee relations. Planning should be based on a review of the existing forms ofvoice, which includes discussions with stakeholders (line managers, employees andtrade union representatives) on the effectiveness of existing arrangements and anyimprovements required. In the light of these discussions, new or revised approachescan be developed, but it is necessary to brief and train those involved in the part theyshould play.
