OP-V-11Catalysts characterizationIn order to evaluate the mechanical stability and adherence of catalyst coatings, vibrationtests have been conducted by ultrasound exposure with monoliths immersed in liquid andmonitoring of weight loss. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) has been used to study indetail the dispersion, uniformity and morphology of the monolithic catalysts, both as preparedand after the stability tests. Confocal microscopy has been used also to analyze the 3D coatingdimension and dispersion. Surface composition has been determined by X-ray photoelectronspectroscopy.Catalytic testsDME steam reforming has been carried out at atmospheric pressure using a conventionalflow reactor(20 mm ID). Prior to reaction, catalytic monoliths have been activated at 573 K with a 10%H 2 /N 2 mixture for 1 h. A DME:H 2 O=1:3 (molar) gaseous mixture balanced in N 2 has beenpassed through the reactor at 473-723 K under different GHSV.
