This reaction (Eq.1) has very important environmentalimplications since both CH 4 and CO 2 contribute to the green house effect:CH 4 + CO 2 → CO + 2H 2 (1).They are also two of the most important abundant carbon-containing materials. Therefore, converting these two gases into a valuable synthesis gas may not only reduce atmosphericemissions of CO 2 and CH 4 , but also satisfy the requirement of many synthesis processes in thechemical industry [1,2].Great efforts have been focused on the development of catalysts which show high activityand stability. These catalysts are conventionally prepared by the wet impregnation method ofdifferent supports. This method is not fully reproducible and may give rise to someinhomogeneity in the distribution of the metal particles. Therefore, a new concept of catalystmay be required. Layered double hydroxides (LDH) are a class of synthetic two-dimensionalnanostructured anionic clays. These types of catalysts also show interesting properties such ashigh surface area, memory effect and basic character [3]. The particular properties of thesematerials have been applied to several reactions such as CO2 reforming of methane. In thispaper, we intend to study NiAl-T hydrotalcites derived catalysts where T, representscalcination temperature, for methane dry reforming reaction.ExperimentalThe NiAl-T hydrotalcite type catalysts were prepared by coprecipitation at constant pH of11.0 with (M 2+ )/(M 3+ ) =2 (M = Ni, M 3+ = Al) using an aqueous solution of Ni(NO 3 ) 2·6H 2 Oand Al(NO 3 )·9H 2 O. The hydrotalcite-like materials were calcined for 8h at varioustemperatures, such as 500°C, 600°C, 700°C and 800° (θ = 5°C/min). The Chemicalcomposition of the samples was determined by ICP method. X-Ray powder diffraction490
