Zeolites with silica moduli <strong>of</strong> 60 and 150 were characterized by strongeracid centers and higher concentrations <strong>of</strong> such centers. Liquid products obtained on <strong>the</strong>secatalysts <strong>the</strong>refore contained large amounts <strong>of</strong> aromatic hydrocarbons with high octanenumbers. Catalyst acidity decreases substantially as <strong>the</strong> zeolite silica modulus increases to220. Transformations <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> directly distilled gasoline fraction in <strong>the</strong> presence <strong>of</strong> zeolitecatalysts resulted in <strong>the</strong> formation <strong>of</strong> gasolines with octane numbers exceeding 80 over <strong>the</strong>whole temperature range studied.264
