PP-I-1conditions <strong>of</strong> process was high as 65%. This allowed considering such way <strong>of</strong> acetaldehydeproduction as competitive to commercial one.The main industrial method <strong>of</strong> acetaldehyde production is ethylene oxidation in <strong>the</strong>presence <strong>of</strong> PdCl 2 and CuCl 2 water solutions. It has a number <strong>of</strong> drawbacks such as formation<strong>of</strong> great amounts <strong>of</strong> toxic chlororganic by-products and waste water. At <strong>the</strong> same timeacetaldehyde production by ethanol dehydrogenation in <strong>the</strong> presence <strong>of</strong> heterogeneouscatalysts has a number <strong>of</strong> advantages: absence <strong>of</strong> toxic wastes, s<strong>of</strong>t conditions <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> processand formation <strong>of</strong> hydrogen, which can be used in o<strong>the</strong>r processes. Ethyl alcohol <strong>the</strong> only rawmaterial can be produced from biomass and allows not using petroleum.When ethanol conversion was carried out in <strong>the</strong> presence <strong>of</strong> copper-bearing catalyst on<strong>the</strong> basis <strong>of</strong> Ciment Fondu – galumin, developed in <strong>Institute</strong> <strong>of</strong> organic chemistry named byN.D. Zelinsky <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Russian</strong> Academy <strong>of</strong> Science and Novomoskovsk institute <strong>of</strong> nitricindustry, essential increase <strong>of</strong> ethanol conversion was observed. Therefore this catalyticsystems were stated to reveal higher activity. In this case <strong>the</strong> basic component <strong>of</strong> liquidproducts is ethyl acetate formed by reaction <strong>of</strong> ethanol and acetaldehyde.For ethanol conversion carried out in <strong>the</strong> presence <strong>of</strong> copper-bearing catalyst on <strong>the</strong> basis<strong>of</strong> silica gel, <strong>the</strong> main product <strong>of</strong> ethanol transformation was ethylene formed by ethanoldehydration due to acid properties <strong>of</strong> a carrier surface.Thus, as a result <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> carried out investigations effective copper-bearing catalysts on <strong>the</strong>basis <strong>of</strong> sibunit, galumin and silica gel for bioethanol dehydration process with acetaldehyde,ethyl acetate and ethylene production have been developed.213
