I his UCCU made the 25th day of April, 1918, Between His ExcellencySir John Eugene Clauson, Major in the Reserve of Officers of the Corpsof Royal Engineers, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Orderof Saint ]\Iichael and Saint George, Commander of the Royal VictorianOrder, High Commissioner and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Islandof Cyprus (hereinafter referredto as the High Commissioner which expressionshall include the High Commissioner or other officer for the time beingadministering the Grovemment of the Islandof Cyprus) of the one part andthe Cvprus Klines Corporation whose registered office is situate at theBorough of Manhattan, City of New York, State of Xew York, in theUnited States of America (hereinafter together with their successors or assignsreferred to as the Corporation) of the other part.WHEREAS by a Deed dated the 20th November, 1915, (hereinafterreferred to as the Principal Deed) and made between the High Commissionerof the one part and Charles Godfrey Gunther, Seeley W. ]\Iudd and PhihpWiseman of the other part the High Commissioner granted unto the saidCharles Godfrey Gimther, Seeley W. Mudd and Philip Wiseman licence tomine win and remove the minerals in under and from the area of land andsubject to the terms and conditions as are in the deed now in recitalmentioned.AND WHEREAS bv a Deed dated the20th October, 1916, and madebetween the said Charles Godfrey Gunther, Seeley W. ^ludd and PhihpWiseman of the first part. The High Commissioner of the second part and theCorporation of the thirdpart, the Principal Deed was amended as thereinmentioned and the said Charles Godfrey Gunther, Seeley W. Mudd and PhihpWiseman did with the consent of the High Commissioner assign unto theCorporation aU their right title and interest under the Principal Deed asthe Deed now in recital amended.AND WHEREAS the Corporation have requested the High Commissionerto grant a further extension of time for the excavation of the first 50,1)00tons of ore as mentionedin clause 2 of the Principal Deed and the HighCoinmissioner has agreed to grant such extension of time in maimer hereinafterappearing.NOW THIS DEED WITNESSETH and it is hereby agreed and declaredbetween the parties hereto as foUows :—1. Clause 2 of the Principal Deed shaU be read as if the words "on orbefore the20th day of November, 1920" were substituted for the words* within two years from the date of these presents."2.
