FRANCIS ACLAND.WHEREAS by an Order in Council bearing datethe 4th day of July, 1908, His late MajestyKing Edward the Seventh, by virtue and in exerciseof the power in that behalf by Section 737 of theMerchant Shipping Act, 1894, in His Majesty vested,was pleased, by and with the advice of His PrivyCouncU, to direct that the taking of depositions underthe Workmen's Compensation Act, 1906, and theMerchant Shipping Act, 1894, which is under thoseActs authorized to be done by or before a BritishConsular Officer might be done in the places specifiedin the first column of the Schedule to the said Orderby or before any Officer for the time being acting inthe office or offices respectively named in the secondcolumn of the Schedule to the said Order, and setopposite to the places so specified :AND WHEREAS by an Order of His Majesty inCouncU, bearing date the 22nd day of November,1913, and known as the Nigeria Protectorate Orderin CouncU, 1913, the Protectorates of Northem Nigeriaand Southern Nigeria were formed into one Protectorateunder the name of the Protectorate of Nigeria:AND WHEREAS it is expedient to alter the first andsecond items of the Schedule to the first hereinbeforerecited Order in Council:Now, <strong>THE</strong>REFORE, His Majesty, by virtue and mexercise of the power in that behalf by Section 737 ofthe Merchant Shipping Act, 1894, in His Majestyvested, is pleased, by and with the advice of His PrivyCouncU, to direct that the first and second items inthe Schedule to the Order in Council of the 4th dayof July, 1908, shaU be amended by the substitutionof the words " Protectorate of Nigeria " in the firstcolumn in place of the words " Northern Nigeria " and" The Protectorate of Southern Nigeria," and in thesecond column by the substitution of the words " ThePoUce Magistrate or other Commissioner of theSupreme Court at each Port within the local Umits ofthe jurisdiction of the Supreme Court " for the words" The Cantonment Magistrate at Lokoja " and " AtCalabar and Warri the Police Magistrate, and at otherports of the Protectorate the District Commissioner ofthe District," and that the words so substituted shallbe numbered " 1" in each column of the said Schedulerespectively, and that the succeeding items in the saidSchedule shaU be renumbered as " 2," " 3," " 4," " 5,"" 6 " and " 7 " in both colunms accordingly.Almeric FitzRoy.No. 514.BY <strong>THE</strong> HIGH COMMISSIONER.JOHN E. CLAUSON,A PROCLAMATION.High Commissioner.WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of theIrrigation and Water Law, 1887, the Commissionerof Limassol held on the 7 th day of May,1918, a pubUc meeting of the proprietors of lands inthe village of Phini, in the District of Limassol, forthe purpose of forming an Irrigation Division for theprotection of the water courses and channels connectedwith the Diorisos river and the regulation of the useof the waters of the said water courses and channels :AND WHEREAS it was determined at the saidmeeting that an Irrigation Division should be formed,and a Committee composed of ^Messrs. TheofanisP. Finiefs, Michael PhiUppou and Antonis Stassi waselected for the purpose of drawing up Rules for thepurposes aforesaid:AND WHEREAS the said Comnuttee has, togetherwith and under the presidency of the Commissioner ofLimassol, drawn up accordingly the Rules in theSchedule hereto:AND VV'HEBEAS in pursuance of section 34 of theIrrigation and Water Law, 1887, the said Rules havebeen published in the Cyprus Gazette and copies thereofhave been duly posted in the village of Phiiu togetherwith a notice as prescribed by Law, and certainobjections have been made to the said Rules :AND WHEREAS the said objections have been dulyconsidered by the High Commissioner in Council:Now, <strong>THE</strong>REFORE, I, John Eugene Clauson, ^Majorin the Reserve of Officers of the Corps of RoyalEi^ineers, Knight Commander of the Most DistinguishedOrder of Saint Michael and Saint George,Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, His Majesty'sHigh Commissioner and Commander-in-Chief in andover the Island of Cyprus, in exercise of the authorityvested in me in that behalf by the Irrigation andΚΥΠΡΙΑΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ
