NO mortgage given by a farmer to a merchant shall be good unless Mortgage.it discloses the source of the mortgage debt in such manner that the amountdue from the mortgagor to the mortgagee may be ascertained from the booksof the merchant, and the mortgage shall be held to be security for suchsum and no more as is proved from such books to be due.No apphcation for sale of mortgaged property under Law 13 of 1890,shaU be entertained unless the mortgagee by affidavit proves the accountshowing the amount claimed to be due or the mortgagor appears before theLand Registry Office and admits the claim.7. Writs for sale of immovables may be issued at any time by the orderof a Judge of a District Court.2. The immovable property of a judgment debtor which may be soldin execution shall include only the property standing registered in his namein the books of the Land Registry Office; provided that when the propertyconsists in whole or in part of a house or houses there shall be left or providedfor the debtor such house accommodation as is necessary for himself and hisfamily, and Provided also that when the debtor is a farmer there shall beexempted from the sale so much land as is necessary for the support of himselfand his family, except in respect of debts incurred before this law comesinto force.3.
