CLAUSON,ORDER.High Commissioner.IN exercise of the powers vested in him by theDiseases of Plants Prevention Law, 1893, HisExceUency the High Cominissioner is pleased to orderand it is hereby ordered as follows :—Within any area declared to be infected with potatorot or with the pest known as Lita Solanella, the followingprovisions shall have effect:—Every person who shaU have within the said areaany potatoes attacked by rot or by the aforesaid insector which shall be suspected of being so attacked, shaUforthwith have all such potatoes buried in the groundand covered with at least two feet of soil, to thesatisfaction of the Director of Agriculture or of suchperson or persons as shall be appointed by him to seethat the provisions of this Order are carried into effect,and further, it is hereby prohibited that any personshall within the said area seU or buy any potatoesattacked or suspected of being attacked as aforesaid,and no movement of any such potatoes as aforesaidshall be permitted out of the said area.The Director of Agriculture and other officials ofthe Agricultural Department and all such persons asshall be appointed by the Director of Agriculture inwriting for the purpose are hereby authorised andappointed to see that the provisions of this Order arecarried into effect.Dated the 26th day of August, 1918.(M.P. 956/18.)No. 428.<strong>THE</strong> DISEASES OF PLANTS PREVENTIONLAW, 1893.DECLARATION NOTICE.IN exercise of the powers vested in him by theDiseases of Plants Prevention Law, 1893, HisExcellency the High Commissioner is pleased to declarethe following area to be a place infected withpotato rot or with the insect known as lAta Solanella :-AU that area within the District of Famagusta fromand including the vUlages of LefkonUco and Trikomoon the north and the village of Akhna on the westwith all the intermediate country, bounded by astraight line due east from Trikomo to the sea, andfrom Trikomo to Lefkoniko, thence to Akhna andfrom Akhna due south to the sea.26th August, 1918. CLAUSON,ORDER.High Commissioner.IN exercise of the powers vested in him by thcDiseases of Plants Prevention Law, 1893, HisExcellency the High Commissioner is pleased to order,and it is hereby ordered as follows :—Within any area declared to be infected with thedisease known as Dacus Oleae (Olive Fly) the followingprovisions shall have effect:—The owner of every olive tree situated within thesaid area whose olive trees shall be infected or suspectedof being infected with Dacus Oleae, shall between the1st day of September, 1918, and the 31st October, 1918,both dates inclusive, daily collect all olives, ripe orunripe, maggotty or suspected to be maggotty, thathave fallen from the said trees and shall either burythem in the ground and mix them with lime in theproportion of not less than 1 oke of lime for each holemeasuring 2 feet deep by 2 feet wide, the final depositof olives being covered with an oke of lime and at least6 inches of soil, or shall forthwith press them toobtain the oil, to the satisfaction of the Director ofAgriculture, or of such person or persons as shaU beappointed by him to see that the provisions of thisOrder are carried into effect.2.
