CLAUSON,A PROCLAMATION.High Commissioner.WHEREAS by an Order of His Majesty in Councilbearing date the 6th day of July, 1907, andproviding for the Govemment of the Island of Cyprus,it was, among other things, ordered that the HighCommissioner should by Proclamation appoint theplace and time for holding each session of the CouncU,and that every session should be holden accordingly.Now, therefore, I, John Eugene Clauson, Major inthe Reserve of Officers of the Corps of Royal Engineers,Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Orderof St. Michael and St. George, Commander of the RoyalVictorian Order, the said High Commissioner, inexercise of the powers vested in me in that behalf bythe said Order of His Majesty in Council, do herebyproclaim and appoint that the next session of theLegislative Council, as constituted by the said Orderof His Majesty in Council, shall be holden at Nicosiaon Tuesday, the 2nd day of April, 1918, at half-pasttwo o'clock in the afternoon.Given at Nicosia, this 15th day of March, 1918.GOD SAVE <strong>THE</strong> KING.(M.P. 268/08.)No. 137.CONTAGIOUS DISEASES (ANIMALS)LAW, 1880.INOCULATION OF ANIMALS.JOHN E. CLAUSON,ORDER.High Commissioner.IN exercise of the powers vested in him by theContagious Diseases (Animals) Law, 1880, andotherwise, His Excellency the High Commissioner ispleased to revoke the Order made the 22nd April,1904, and in Ueu thereof to order as a General Orderrelating to the inoculation of animals as defined in thesaid Law being within any district, area or place withinany area notified in the prescribed manner as being adistrict, area or place within any area infected withany one or more of the following diseases, to wit.Anthrax, Quarter-Ul, Sheep-pox and Goat-pox asfollows :—1. The Director of Agriculture may direct that aUsuch animals or a particular kind or kinds of suchanimals as aforesaid shall be inoculated, and for thepurpose of such inoculation shall fix such places, datesand times within such district, area or place withinany area as aforesaid as shall be reasonably convenientfor the^ttendance of the owners, possessors and personshaving charge of the said animals to be inoculated andof the ofl&cers or any one of them appointed under theSpecial Order of His Excellency the High Commissioner,dated the 6th December, 1917, charged interalia with the execution of any General Order made invirtue of the provisions of the said law.2. Every owner and possessor and every personhaving charge of an animal directed to be inoculatedas aforesaid who, after such public notification of thesaid direction for inoculation, and of the places, datesand times fixed as aforesaid for the said purpose-ofinoculation as the Director of Agriculture may considerproper, fails to produce such animal to the oflficer oroflBcers as aforesaid commits an offence against theprovisions of the said law.Dated the 13th day of March, 1918.(M.P. 1396/14.)No. 138.ORDER OF HIS EXCELLENCY <strong>THE</strong> HIGHCOMMISSIONER.<strong>THE</strong> DISEASES OF PLANTSLAW, 1893.JOHN E. CLAUSON,ORDER.PREVENTIONHigh Commissioner.IN exercise of the powers vested in him by theDiseases of Plants Prevention Law, 1893, HisExcellency the High Commissioner is pleased to orderand it is hereby ordered as follows :—Within any area declared to be infected with thedisease known as the Sirividhi of the Vine (ZygaenaAmpelophaga) the foUowing provisions shall haveeffect:—The owner of every vine situated within the saidarea whose vines shall be infected or suspected of being^infected with Sirividhi, shall between the first day'and the thirtieth day of AprU, 1918, and in everysubsequent year apply to all parts of every said vinea solution of Paris Green at the rate of 28 drams ofParis Green to 100 parts of water, to the satisfactionof the Director of Agriculture or of such person orpersons as shall be appointed by liim to see that theprovisions of this Order are carried into eflfect.2.
