No person who on the Ist cay of August,1918, was in the service of the Cjrprus GrovemmentRailway (hereinafter referred to as a" railway employee ") shaU leave that service orcease in any way to exercise his functions assuch employee without the permission in writingof the Chief Secretary or the General Manager ofthe Railway. Any railw ay employee who shallcommit a breach of this Order shall be Uable tobe punished under Martial Law by fine or imprisonmentor both such penalties.2. In case of any difference arising between arailway employee and the General Manager whichcannot be settled between them and in case itshould be decided by the General Manager thatthe services of such railway employee are neverthelessrequired by the Govemment in workingthe railway, then in every such case the matterin question shall be referred for enquiry andreport to a Committee consisting of—The President of the District Court, Nicosia,as Chairman.The Commissioner of Nicosia.Mr. Achilleas Liassides of Nicosia.The Committee shall have power to order thecourse of such enquiry and report. The Order, dated the Sth April, 1918, ishereby canceUed.Given under the hand and official seil of theHigh Commissioner and Commander-in-Chief at Troodos, this 27th day of August,1918 (M.P. 502/16.)No. 426.NOTICE RELATING TO <strong>THE</strong> PROHIBITIONOF <strong>THE</strong> IMPORTATION OF COCAINEAND OPIUM INTO <strong>THE</strong> UNITEDKINGDOM.AS from and after the 25th June, 1918, all• cocaine and all opium is prohibited to beimported into the United Kingdom.This prohibition does not apply to cocaine oropium imported under license and in accordancewith the provisions of such license.The word " cocaine" includes ecgonine, andany substance, whether preparation, admixture,extract or otherwise, containing 0.1 per cent,(one part in a thousand) or more of cocaine orecgonine, or of any salt or derivative thereof.The word " opium " means raw opium powderedor granulated opium, or opium prepared forsmoking, and includes any soUd or semi-soUdmixture containing opium.The Cocaine and Opium (Prohibition of Import)No. 2 Proclamation, 1916, is revoked.(M.P. 519/16.)By His Excellency's Command,M.
