_LEE UNIVERSITY FACULTY HANDBOOK & CONSTITUTIONGrades and Student RecordsWithdrawal from SchoolAlthough students drop individual courses through the schedule change processdescribed above, students wishing to withdraw from the university must do so through theOffice of the Vice President for Student Development before Reading Day. <strong>Faculty</strong>members do not sign for these withdrawals but will be informed of them by the Registrar’sOffice. Teachers who are aware that students wish to withdraw from school can behelpful in advising them to complete the process through the Office of StudentDevelopment.Residence RequirementThe academic policy of the university requires that the last thirty hours be completedin residence. Any exception to this requirement begins with the student initiating aPetition for Exception for Academic Policy. Petitions are reviewed and granted or deniedby the Deans Council.Final ExaminationsA schedule for final semester examinations is prepared by the Vice President forAcademic Affairs and is listed in the Schedule of Classes each semester as well as beingposted on the <strong>Lee</strong> <strong>University</strong> web site. Teachers must adhere to this schedule. No examsare to be given other than at the time designated in the published schedule. A studentwith three or more exams on the same day may appeal to the school dean for a changein his/her examination schedule. Accounts must be cleared prior to final examinations.GradesGrades and quality points are assigned and recorded as listed below. A gradechange can be requested in writing by the student and approved by the instructor. Gradechanges must be made within one semester.Grade Quality points per semester hourA 4.0A- 3.7B+ 3.3B 3.0B- 2.7C+ 2.3C 2.0C- 1.7D+ 1.3D 1.0D- 0.7F 0.0Grade “I”A grade of “I” indicates the student’s work is incomplete. The grade becomes “F” if thework is not completed by the end of the following semester or unless a written extensionhas been approved by the Vice President for Academic Affairs. A grade of “I” should7 - 15 Academic Policies and Procedures
