_________________LEE UNIVERSITY FACULTY HANDBOOK & CONSTITUTION_________________5. Supervise the recruitment, employment, orientation, and evaluation of part–timefaculty in the School.6. Maintain official credential files for faculty in the School of Nursing.Facility Management1. Oversee purchases, maintenance, and security of curriculum-related equipment forthe new School of Nursing building.2. Provide information for needed design of new School of Nursing, especially asrelated to lab and simulation spaces.Resource Development and Management1. Prepare the academic budgets of the School and submit budget documents,including any needed budget revisions, to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.2. Utilize assessment data in support of budget proposals.3. Review and approve expenditures from budgets of School. Work with the Office ofBusiness and Finance in the orderly control of budgets and proper accountingprocedures.4. Prepare requests and represent the needs of the School to the Vice President forAcademic Affairs when contingency funding or budget revisions are needed.5. Collaborate with the Lee University Grants Office in seeking and securing funding forthe School of Nursing.Instruction1. Develop workload assignments and class schedules in coordination with faculty andmaintain records of workloads and professional activities.2. Assist the Vice President for Academic Affairs in the efficient allocation ofinstructional space and appropriate placement of classes by providing input.3. Supervise the instructional processes of the college and provide leadership andguidance to faculty.4. Lead the faculty of the college in efforts to improve instructional effectiveness and toenhance student learning outcomes.5. Collaborate with faculty of the School to set goals, action plans, and assessmentmeasures. Assess academic effectiveness in the School.6. Maintain a complete file of all current course syllabi for the college.7. In collaboration with faculty, establish class limits and manage the enforcement oflimits during registration.8. Facilitate the development of a strategic plan which will support and preserve thestandard of excellence in education in the School of Nursing.9. Guide faculty in ensuring that clinical site requirements are met and maintained forstudents and faculty.10. Lead and supervise instruction and research programs of the School.Curriculum Management1. Administer the curricular policies of the university as they relate to the disciplines andprograms of study of the School.2. In collaboration with faculty, develop new syllabi and curriculum proposals andsubmit them to the appropriate Curriculum Committee.3. Provide guidance and leadership in the development and implementation of newgraduate programs and courses in the School of Nursing.4. Monitor post-graduation NCLEX-RN pass rates as related to curriculum.3 - 35 Organization

Collaborate with staff in Lee University Division of Adult Learning to deliver theRN/BSN track.7. Lead annual catalog revisions.Administration of Student Academic Progress1. Administration of Student Academic Progress2. Set School admission criteria and select student admission status.3. Coordinate entrance testing with Lee University Testing and Evaluation.4. Evaluate transcripts of transfer students and majors.5. Advise students and mentor new faculty in advising processes.6. Maintain academic and student program records.7. Administer academic regulations in reference to any student who is majoring in adiscipline in the college.8. Follow the process of clearing students for graduation candidacy.External Relationships1. Monitor the continual development of the websites for the School of Nursing.2. Coordinate and supervise the programs of research and publication for the Collegeof Education.3. Provide direction for marketing and public relations for the School of Nursing tovarious publics.4. Maintain active positive relationships with healthcare facilities that provide clinicalopportunities for students.5.
