Perform other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates within the scope of thisclassification.Director of <strong>Faculty</strong> DevelopmentThe Director of <strong>Faculty</strong> Development is directly responsible to the Vice President forAcademic Affairs. The director will maintain a Center for Teaching Excellence and workdirectly with faculty to continually improve teaching and student learning. Duties includethe following:1. Maintain the Center for Teaching Excellence and the attendant resources.2. Lead the faculty development program, including the infusion of critical thinking,integrative learning, active learning, and instructional technology into the teachinglearningprocesses.3. Provide technical and professional guidance to faculty on new course developmentand the development and implementation of outcomes assessment for courses.4. Provide excellent orientation programs for new faculty.5. Promote teaching excellence.6. Provide faculty development opportunities as appropriate to the QEP.7. Supervise the <strong>Faculty</strong> Coordinator of Instructional Technology.<strong>Faculty</strong> Coordinator of Instructional TechnologyThe <strong>Faculty</strong> Coordinator of Instructional Technology is directly responsible to theDirector of <strong>Faculty</strong> Development. The coordinator is responsible for the development andon-going training of the methodologies that support the educational / instructional needsof <strong>Lee</strong> <strong>University</strong> with a focus on the Moodle Learning Management System. Thecoordinator will also design classroom materials for faculty at <strong>Lee</strong>. Duties will include:1. Develop course design documents – task analyses and curriculum design.2. Recommend tool(s) from our educational tool suite to deliver training content.3. Design course materials to assist faculty in using technology to create an activelearning environment.4. Lead course material development efforts.5. Design graphics for use in a web-based environment with interactive applications.6. Design faculty web sites.7. Maintain project plans.8. Solicit student assessment/feedback regarding course materials, development tools,delivery methods, and performances.9. Train faculty in applications for updating websites, promote use of technologies thatwill enhance engaged learning and work with faculty members to develop projectplans for instructional initiatives.10. Serve as point-of-contact during development of course materials.11. Participate in keeping faculty up-to-date on copyright issues.12. Provide opportunities for faculty to gather and share and demonstrate what theyfind to be some best practices.13. Attend conferences related to instructional design, learning and the integration oftechnology in the classroom environment.14. Research and assess instructional design and technology trends.15. Propose annual budget.Dean of the College of Arts and SciencesThe Dean reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, provides leadership tothe faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences, and is responsible for the administration3 - 15 Organization
