It shall be the responsibility of the Director of theCounseling Center to hold all counseling communications with clients and their recordsas confidential information except in specific situations mandated or permitted by lawsand professional regulations, such as potential imminent harm to the client or others. TheDirector is responsible to the Vice President for Student Development. Specific duties ofthis position include but are not limited to the following:1. Provision of psychological services to Lee University students.2. Supervision of all clinical services at the Counseling Center including the trainingprogram and all professional staff.3. Maintain current and confidential clinical records.4. Refer students who need special clinical analysis or treatment.5. Consult with faculty and administration regarding a broad range of psychologicalissues including crisis situations.6. Assume other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Student Development.Director of the Health Clinic1. The Director of the Health Clinic is responsible for planning and implementing aprogram of student health services. The director is directly responsible to the VicePresident for Student Development and regularly collaborates and consults with themedical director in carrying out duties. Specific duties of this position include thefollowing:2. Treat minor illnesses and injuries of students and employees which fall within thedirector’s sphere of competency.3. Refer students to physicians when in the director’s professional judgment this seemswarranted.4. Accompany students to hospital or clinic when necessary.5. Contact parents or guardians of students in the event of serious illness or injury.6. Maintain current health records on students.7. Validate that varsity athletes have a complete physical examination each year.8. Plan and implement a health education program for the university community.9. Maintain appropriate staff and coordinate staff development.10. Supervise daily functions of the Health Clinic.11. Coordinate physicals and immunizations for those students participating in GlobalPerspectives travel programs.12. Provide dorms with first aid boxes and arrange instruction for first aid and CPRyearly.13. Coordinate a blood drive on campus once each semester.14. Ensure that clinical staff are certified for laboratory protocols each year.15. Assume other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Student Development.3 - 53 Organization
