Provide periodic reports of receipts and technical information to the universitycommunity and to external funding agencies.4. Recommend and participate in the development of university policies andprocedures; may serve on university planning and policy-making committees.5. Encourage customer-oriented staff interaction with students, parents, andadministrators.6. Interact with internal and external auditors, participate in auditing projects, or provideinformation and access to accounting records as required.7. Coordinate procedures, balance all transactions, and manage financial reportingrelating to the registration process.8. Establish and implement short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives,policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates operationaleffectiveness; effects changes required for improvement.9. Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectivelyaccomplish the organization's goals and objectives; recruit, employ train, supervise,and evaluate unit staff.10. Oversee the function and maintain the accuracy of information that is a part of theuniversity’s database as it relates to student accounts receivable and receipts.11. Represent the university to various institutional divisions as well as externally togovernment agencies, funding agencies, students, and/or the general public/localcommunity.12. Plan, develop, and implement strategies for managing student accounts receivablefor the university.13. Counsel and assist students and parents on financial matters.Assistant Director of Student Financial ServicesThe Assistant Director of Student Financial Services is directly responsible to theDirector of SFS. Duties include:1. Manages the collection process for student loans and non-current receivables. Thisinvolves interacting with collection agencies on a regular basis.2. Coordinates all student financial activity and interacts with third party billing servicesof the Federal Perkins Loan program. This includes monitoring the Cohort DefaultRate on a monthly basis.3. Performs various processes as they relate to student withdrawals/return of Title IVaid.4. Assist Director of SFS with various projects and reports requested from the VicePresident of Business and Finance.5. Manages payment plans for students who have a receivable balance and who are nolonger enrolled in the university.6. Represents the <strong>University</strong> to various institutional divisions as well as externally togovernment agencies, funding agencies, students and the general public.7. Executes monthly general ledger analysis and account reconciliation for Winters andCIOS student loan programs.8. Oversees the allocation and disbursement of student deposits.9. Assists the Director of SFS with coordination and reporting relating to the registrationprocess.10. Counsels and assists students and parents on financial matters.11. Evaluates financial status of student loans and receivables as requests for studenttranscripts are received.3 - 39 Organization
