Kian <strong>the</strong>n st<strong>and</strong>sbefore <strong>the</strong>m as a man, with <strong>the</strong> blood from Brian's spear tricklingfrom his breast. “I have outwitted ye,” he cries, “for if ye hadslain a pig ye would have paid but <strong>the</strong> eric [blood-fine] <strong>of</strong> a pig,85 The o<strong>the</strong>r two were “The Fate <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Children <strong>of</strong> Lir” <strong>and</strong> “The Fate <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> Sons <strong>of</strong> Usna.” The stories <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Quest <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Sons <strong>of</strong> Turenn <strong>and</strong> that <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> Children <strong>of</strong> Lir have been told in full by <strong>the</strong> author in his “High Deeds <strong>of</strong>Finn <strong>and</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r Bardic Romances,” <strong>and</strong> that <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> “Sons <strong>of</strong> Usna” (<strong>the</strong> DeirdreLegend) by Miss Eleanor Hull in her “Cuchulain,” both published by Harrap<strong>and</strong> Co
