To do so, we examine thedifferent perspectives that the chapters bring, first, to understanding therelations between internal and international migration, and second, tocomparisons between internal and international migration at different levelsof analysis. Finally, we consider the range of implications for policy that theauthors draw from their different research foci and perspectives. Thisdiscussion is framed in terms of the geographies of sending and receivingareas and levels of social organization that, we propose, can inform futureresearch and policy development not only related to labor migration andremittances, but also other types of migration and resource transfers thatlink the processes of migration and economic developments betweendifferent socio-cultural contexts.23
