170In their use of the literary method, Lavon and Prof. Rotenstreich attack, over and over again, the pioneer-workers. Of course, the “Youth Circle”has no ideology, and this is not the fault of the young people but the fault ofthe fathers. But nevertheless, there is a concentration, in this circle, ofpeople of action who are capable of making entire lands fertile:Agriculturalists, architects, manufacturing technicians, experts in matters ofwater and so on. However, of what value are the ideological “goods” thatLavon and Rotenstreich are selling? These “goods” lack any value. Theylack the ability to inspire faith even for one child. Both see themselves as gods, forwhom the laws of human decency do not apply. Both of them demand forthemselves, by virtue of their magical rule over the Hebrew word, a sort ofunique priestly-extraterrestrial status. If the “Youth Circle” has a specialtask, then it should be, first and foremost, to free its party from the literaryrhetoricalmethod, and to entrench in it the methods that are founded uponthe practical experience and execution that has accumulated in the land and
