197After years of in-depth study of the chapter of the gathering, andintegration, of exiles in the State of Israel, after I examined this problem tothe best of my abilities, after I checked it from the historical background ofthe past, the political relationship in the State of Israel, the personalrelationship between Ashkenazim and non-Ashkenazim, after all this study, reading, searching the sources and conversations with tens of Sephardimand Ashkenazim, I reached the conclusion that, from an Ashkenaziperspective, this policy is absurd, frightening and contains horrific dangers. It is absurd because it represents a sudden, and ridiculous, step backwardfrom the path that Ashkenaz had been taking for the last 200 years. Moreover: Inthe building of the Hebrew settlement in the Land of Israel under Britishrule, it was necessary to take into consideration the neurosis in theAshkenazi-Sephardi relationship, and to create, through an appropriateplan, a guaranteed Ashkenazi majority for many generations. However, theZionist policy gave a huge preference to Sepharad, and the results did not
