Mapai willnot be able to dance at both weddings. It must decide one way or the other:Will it build an <strong>Ashkenazi</strong> civilization in the State of Israel or will it build aSephardic civilization, which stands upon the ruins of <strong>Ashkenazi</strong>civilization.In parallel to the political aggressiveness of Eliyahu Sasson in the field ofgovernment, the Yemenite leader, Mordechai Tabib, wages an attack onAshkenaz on the cultural plane. His articles (“From the Foundation” 12-11) are grave writs of accusation against Ashkenaz on the cultural plane.<strong>The</strong> sins of Ashkenaz are too heavy to bear. According to the Yemeniteleader, all of the actions and thoughts of Ashkenaz are coordinated towarddepriving the Mizrahi ethnic groups of their fair share, and toward stiflingtheir independent actions. We should tell Mordechai Tabib that since hewrote these articles, he has concluded his account with us and he must packhis belongings and move to the spiritual domain of the “Mizrahi ethnicgroups”. If we are so evil and incorrigible, why should he live with us?<strong>The</strong>re is plenty of room in today’s State of Israel for these “Mizrahi ethnicgroups” to make their livelihoods, and plenty of pasture for independent,political and cultural activity of every sort. Who is preventing Sasson fromcreating a great Sephardic political party? Who is preventing the Yemeniteauthors, such as Tabib, from writing an opus of Yemenite Jewry equal invalue to “War and Peace” by Tolstoy? Who is preventing them fromcreating Yemenite, and Sephardic, positions in the State of Israel?It is not us who are preventing them, but the weakness that is ingrained inthem, in their innermost selves and their innermost beings. And since theyrefuse to admit their shortcoming, they smear us with false accusations. Intheir lack of ability, within their inner selves, to create anything ofsubstance, or that is independent, Tabib and Sasson slither like parasites to<strong>Ashkenazi</strong> areas and publicly unthread their necklace of old lies, which is
