Butthe youth are monarchists, who are forced to act within a democraticframework and according to its rules.4<strong>The</strong> longest lasting monarchy, of all the monarchies that arose in the 1940’sin the Jewish settlement of the Land of Israel during the British rule, wasthat of Menahem Begin, whose official main command center is found inthe “Fortress of Ze’ev”, on King George St. in Tel Aviv. At the end of1947, and at the beginning of 1948, history knocked strongly on the modesthouse of Menahem Begin, and offered him generous proposals. Had heentered the war coalition with Ben-Gurion, who was weak at the time, hewould have been able to conquer the land to the Jordan, including all ofJerusalem, and to deal the enemy a victorious blow. It should not be said that Begin ceased leading his camp, rather,instead of leading it to war against the British, he lead it to war in theelections for the Knesset – a success that is too well recognized.
