290However, through the essence of its being, and contrary to its will, the Stateof Israel creates a chance for the solution to the <strong>Ashkenazi</strong> question. If thesituation of the Jews in the United States deteriorates due to an upwellingof dangerous anti-Semitism, the Jews of America will not caste their lotwith the State of Israel, which will neither want, nor be able, to absorbthem, but they will solve their problem by establishing a second Jewishstate, the State of Ashkenaz. <strong>The</strong>re will be no lack of territory for this state.<strong>The</strong> actors in the project will receive tempting offers from many sides.Herzl also had no lack of offers. How much more so will there be no lackof offers after the success of the State of Israel as a developing nation. Itwas very difficult to establish the first Jewish state after two thousand yearsof exile. <strong>The</strong> main stumbling block, which stood in the way of thefounding of this state, was Jewish doubt concerning the very possibility ofsuch a thing. But after the State of Israel was established, it is likely thatanother state will follow it, and over the course of much time, even severalstates. For the possibilities of Jewish statehood are truly limitless. <strong>The</strong><strong>Ashkenazi</strong> state will be aided by the rich experience that was acquiredthrough the establishment of the State of Israel. Diplomats, military men,experts and Israeli adventurers are likely to contribute a recognizablecontribution to its establishment and development. Israelis develop, andwill develop, many nations. Why, if so, would they not develop the<strong>Ashkenazi</strong> State, when its establishment is realized in another fifty or sixtyyears?<strong>The</strong> State of Israel is already in the process of laying the foundations foranother Jewish state. <strong>The</strong> Israelis have become colonists and classicnation-builders. In Israel we find a great concentration of knowledge in allmatters involved with the development of new lands, knowledge ofagriculture, of water and irrigation, of construction etc. Moreover: Israel isbecoming a center of worldly knowledge regarding the conditions andtreasures of lands and continents. <strong>The</strong> files of the Israeli institutionsalready hold a concentration of knowledge on Africa, and it is doubtful ifthe African governments have anything like it in any field of research. Inanother fifty or sixty years we shall possess superb knowledge ofconditions in most developing lands and empty territories in the New
