59Along with the declaration of his kindness, he assured me that the letter toYour Honor would be sent by courier immediately after I delivered it to him.As yet you have not received a letter from Mr. Fourier. 31 First the 15 thof December passed... then the 20 th , and still no news of the publication ofYour Honor's book. Yesterday, December 25 th , Mr. Sautelet included anothernotice in the ―Courier‖ stating that Your Honor's work is ―at the printer, andwill appear on either the 10 th , or the 15 th , of January, 1829‖. The delay may beexplained perhaps by the fact that local printers are busy printing many bookspour entrennes, as well as a great number of pamphlets and treatises which arebeing issued in conjunction with the proximate opening of Parliament. Mr.Sautelet is printing many of the latter. In his latest notice, yesterday, alongwith Your Honor's work, he also announced the publication of the Histoiredes communes en France by Reyneuard 32 , and a second edition of Descommunes et de l'aristocratie by Barante 33 . He made no mention of these in hisnotice of December first, inevitably, they will be released before YourHonor's work since they meet a specific need of the times, whereas YourHonor's work is not geared to the needs of any one day, or month, or year; itcan be sold profitably either now, or somewhat later.The ―Systeme Communal‖, scheduled to be changed during the nextsession of Parliament, has totally absorbed the attention of both politicians andjournalists in Paris at this time. The most recent work on this topic, by Ministerof State Vaublanc, 34 is criticized universally.
